One of the four prizes I donated over at
, who won first place in the writing section of the Midnight Summer Ball contest! She got a full-body drawing for me, and is the only one of the winners that chose a character from Rise of the Guardians for me to draw. She wanted a Dark/Corrupted version of Jack, with the only stipulations being that he should still have his white hair, and his eyes should be gold. The rest was up to me.
So, here's Dark Jack, or as I like to call him, "Jack Going Through His Goth Kid Phase." There's so many awesome versions of Dark Jack out there that I was really trying not to do something that's already been done. In the end I didn't change his design too

I darkened his jacket and added the ribcage frost designs (and I'm sure if my life painting teacher sees this I'm gonna hear all about how I didn't put enough ribs or something). I decided to throw in some thorns on his staff and a ton of icicles. Because I don't know about the rest of you but I'm always terrified one of those things is gonna fall and kill me. The ones outside the illustration building are always massive. D:
I had a lot of fun with the lighting on this one.

Inside, the party is in full tilt. Music and laughter ring out in joyous cadences behind glass doors and heavy curtains, but the shadowy figure standing tall on the balcony makes no move to join them. He is content to stand there, companionless in the moonlight, hands clasped behind his back and silver-gold eyes ever watchful. Shadows coil lazily at his feet, tendrils snaking across his ankles. Parties have never been his idea of fun. He prefers
